【The Czars】—— 一起感受阴郁低沉的颓废之美

来自落杉矶丹佛市的另类乡村摇滚乐团The Czars，五个人组成。
主唱John William Grant低沉浑厚的男中音是乐队最吸引人的亮点，而乐队是采用双吉他配器，以及小提琴、各种鼓器的交相辉映。
他们的歌曲中既有阴郁低沉的颓废之美，也有些乡村民谣的清新散漫。
   Grant早年曾在德国求学达六年之久，之后便回到丹佛市开始组团，由于他留学期间深受欧洲气息的感染，使得这个团名为「沙皇」的美籍队伍反而是先从英伦地区的独立厂牌取得发表的机会，而后再反攻回至美洲的家乡，不仅又证明了英国厂的新秀挖掘能力往往是独具慧眼的。 然尔他们在本国的受欢迎程度却远不及在欧洲。
   初听The Czars的音乐应该是被主唱Grant那低沈深厚的男中高音所吸引住，而现任阵中五人的编制，使得他们在音乐层面上的表现一开始就立刻表露出他們在这方面所下的细腻功夫，双吉他手的交错运用、各种鼓器、搖铃、小提琴、迷离音色的键盘以及其他稀奇古怪的小装置，让他们的音乐层次顿时如一巨大的音乐殿堂。
    第一次听他们的音乐是一个安静的夜晚，无意翻到一个网页听到Drug。在那片寂寥沉重的吉他声落地前，房间里只有敲击键盘的哒哒声。john grant那仿佛压抑了百年的声音渗透进了这个黑夜，you'r a drug to me,i never ever thought it otherwise,and i love the lies that you've told to me while looking me directly in my eyes,this is not ecstasy,but it's better than cocaine.看透一切却又无法离开，苍白的自嘲和毒品带来得幻境相互纠缠。如果黑夜忽然归入沉寂，罂粟花会不会停止疯长？如果生活日渐沉入苍白，爱情会不会一起失去了颜色？如果，我们在这样的夜里点燃最后一根烟，会不会明天我就可以停止向往？纵使，这周遭一切都不过是一场谎言游戏，那瞬间断裂的琴弦，仍绝望的吟唱着，在我心地涌起无法停止的美丽幻觉。。。。。
