Spring 2011_KPF + Vincent Lo Advanced Studio

Chongqing is experiencing a time of rapid growth, transforming culture, society, and the economy at large at an unprecedented rate. Historically, Chongqing's economy has been largely comprised of the manufacture of products due to its strategic geographical location for exporting. Due to the recent investment in infrastructure, both regionally and nationally, Chongqing is poised to be China's face to the West and even more connected to other prominent Chinese cities to the East. The redevelopment site is located at the nexus of areas of influence within the city; it serves as the "connective tissue" between the Tech Development to the West, the old CBD to the East, the New Development District to the North, and the cultural/convention center to the South. This development proposal attempts to leverage this new "connectedness" and intersect it with Chongqing's ambition to move from a manufacturing-based economy to a service-based economy. Chongqing Supertall + Cultural Nexus is composed of several architectural elements that provide both civic amenities and serve as economic drivers for subsequent Chongqing growth. (1) A redeveloped multi-modal station orchestrates both rail traffic and a bus hub through the use of a monumental interior space with a number of sectional levels. (2) A supertall tower comprised of a connected retail-landscape, tech/service office space, up-market residential, and a boutique hotel. (3) A horizontal retail-landscape civic amenity that operates at multiple sectional strata to negotiate the various user traffic in transit coming to and from the site. This landscape allows for a substantial amount of program to be lodged within it as well as a multitude of ways to circulate and pass through the site. This "connective retail-landscape" is a microcosm for Chongqing at large, a transitional figure that connects, unites, and strenghtens individual attractors to spur both economic and cultural growth.

    朝天门不是****的问题,保华没钱反悔退了,现在在找下家,渝中区还是在努力了,起码目前看到的都是在接触新鸿基,置地这种档次的

Vincent Lo就是瑞安的老板啊,奇怪有個Advanced Studio跟著。按理不會這樣快就買第二個超大型項目的,更何況這眼下資金誰都缺。當然也有可能只是概念設計,真要動工還有好多年呢。
