The Chongqing Financial Street is a series of 7 parcels of land, located in the heart of the Chongqing Financial District (CQFS), at the tip of the peninsula where the two major rivers split. Chongqing has become one of China’s major inland cities. The 7 parcels run north to south along Wuyi Road on the west side, and Singhua Road for the most part on the east side. It begins south of Minzu Road, and ends north of Ciqi Street. Two key cultural monuments directly adjacent to the site are the Liberation Monument and the Luohan Temple. The site is easily accessible from various subway stations. The district will also be integrated into the proposed pedestrian street network.
The proposed master plan aims to transform the CQFS into a functional and effective financial district of international importance, with pedestrian-friendly public open spaces. The proposed master plan comprises of mainly high and middle level office buildings, as well as a hotel, service apartments, and retail.
CQFS Master Plan has introduced several sustainable features, including atrium gardens within office towers, green roofs, the use of locally available materials to reduce transportation cost, and a common service tunnel (CST) that would prepare infrastructure in advance to ease future construction.
